Looking for more details about Beating Gravity? Then the about page is surely worth checking out as well.
Beating Gravity's ultimate goal is to "beat gravity" and drastically improve how humanity flies around our planet and travels into space.
And if that’s us aiming to high for your taste, rest assured that we also recognize the somewhat more modest goal of publishing interesting articles about topics related to that ultimate goal.
We explain it all in more detail on our about page.
It's our tagline, and it obviously relates to the ultimate goal mentioned above. It fits us perfectly and we just love it, so here we go:
This intriguing question deserves more than a simple yes or no answer. Fortunately, we happen to have an awesome article about this:
Is anti-gravity possible? How to cancel gravity?

Yes, while our site doesn't heavily focus on mathematics, you are welcome to share some math in comments that you post. We use MathJax so that you can enter math in LaTeX format. However, please only use this specialized language and formatting if you are familiar with it. We don't provide a tutorial but those familiar with LaTex will understand the following sentence.🙂 To include inline math use the \(...\) notation, and to include "display" math use the \[…\] or $$…$$ notation.
If you are not that familiar with math and/or LaTex, don't worry! You are still very welcome to comment in plain English🙂
Beating Gravity is usually light on math, even in articles related to physics. Mathematics is of tremendous importance in physics and we fully recognize this. However, many articles on Beating Gravity are about generating ideas and unleashing creativity. With those goals in mind, we believe it's ok to push the math aside in such articles. We clarify this further in this section of the about page. Furthermore, our how-to articles may contain some math but we try to keep it simple!
Yes, but we try to keep our comments nicely organized and therefore support only very limited use of HTML in comments. We support <i></i> to display text <i>in italic</i>. And we support <a></a> for links, like in the following example which is a <a href="https://beatinggravity.com/">link to our homepage</a>. Please only include relevant links though and don't bother to insert promotional or otherwise spammy links. Comments with links are strictly moderated and will not be published if such undesirable links are included.
We understand that this explanation about HTML is very limited. However, it's not meant as a tutorial on the use of HTML. It's just a very brief summary of the few HTML tags that we support. If this is a bit too technical for your taste, then just ignore it! Or, if you are interested to learn more about HTML, try a site like W3Schools.
An excellent question, and the short answer is no. There is a bit more to it than that though, and we explain it in more detail here.
Beating Gravity is not an educational website, although we frequently give brief explanations where appropriate. More often though we refer to other great websites or books for explanations about certain concepts and terminology. Just follow the references we give in the text in such cases. And this section of our about page may also be of interest.
